This was my train!

I meant to put this up when it happened but alas, work overcame my best intentions. ;)

Craft projects

Just because we've been lax updating the blog, doesn't mean we've been sitting around and relaxing. We've been busy! And below is just one of the many projects that I've completed in the past several weeks.

We have a bad habit of collecting great photographs but having a house with nothing on the walls. Effective, no? So, I finally found some frames on sale, as well as some additional frames in a box in our basement that are perfect for the master bedroom. A few pictures and dictionary pages later, and here is what you get.

Pretty nice, huh? Now we just have to remember to hang them...

Happy Halloween!

Halloween once again went spook-tacularly at the O'Currents house this year. I moved the mantle display into the foyer, so that trick-or-treaters could enjoy it.

The motion-activated pumpkin on the front door was also a big hit for the second year running. There's nothing like making little kids jump at the sight of a stuffed pumpkin that makes you all warm and fuzzy inside ( insert maniacal laughter here).

Oh, and of course, Riley's costume. Ok, I'm the first to admit that dressing your dog up in clothing is really low on the cool scale. But, I think Halloween should be an exception. However, since Duff made me promise that I wouldn't buy Riley a costume, I had to improvise.

Luckily, I had an old pair of pumpkin-pattern pajama pants that were just a tad too short. So, I decided they would work much better as capris. And the cut-off legs just seemed to fit perfectly on Riley.

Ok, so its not really a "costume," but at least she's in the Halloween spirit!

"I thought she was with you!" "I thought she was with you!!!"

The above conversation recently led to the discovery of this...

Who didn't see that coming?
