We just got back from a wonderful vacation to my home state of Wisconsin. As usual when we're on vacation, I only managed to take about three pictures. I'm sorry! I'm too busy having fun to snap photos! I will, however, share those three pictures later this week (if JT cooperates).
In the meantime, we need some time to recuperate. Vacation can be exhausting!

The Love Affair
I am a failure at keeping up with the blog and watching the baby. But let's face it--JT is way more exciting. I'm not yet ready to work on the how-the-baby-arrived post but I will post about that one day. Today, let's stick with something light...
Let's talk about Chase's love affair with his new brother. He literally has to be in whatever room JT is in. As I type, Chase is sleeping on the couch next to the Pack 'n Play where JT is sleeping. Chase cannot get enough of the little guy. As examples:
JT was not always as enamored of Chase, unfortunately...
But they've worked out an understanding (licks = tickles = kicks and squirming).

Let's all just imagine the trouble these two will get into five years from now...or let's not. I don't need that kind of stress!

Helpful Puppies
I walked into the bedroom this morning to find the following scene:
That's the manual from our childbirth preparation class. It looks like Chase wants to be prepared for the new arrival as well.
Either that or he thought the booklet needed some bite marks so that we would think of him every time we refer to it.
Yes, he started chewing on it again while I was taking pictures. Good work, Chasey.

Its 8:30, do you know where your puppies are?
Matt and I were sitting in the living room when we suddenly turned to each other with worried faces--where are the dogs?
Yeah, its only 8:30 pm and they're ready for bed. The life of a puppy is so exhausting.
And yes, Mom and Dad. This picture was taken with the new camera. But, as a caveat, the camera was accidentally on the "scene" setting. It takes much better pictures on the proper setting.

Bananas!
Chase is bananas over his new toy.
He carries it everywhere--but only by the very tip...because he's gentle like that. He hasn't even torn the tag off, he loves it so much. We'll see how long this lasts (its been over a week so far).
The banana cost us just over $1 at Target. Totally worth it. It was part of a "fruit bowl" that was on clearance for $5. It included a frisbee (the plate) that Riley loves to lay with outside, a pineapple with crinkly leaves that Chase also likes to cart around and toss in the air, a tennis ball, the banana and a lime that Riley loves so much she will place it on the chair/couch/bed under her and sleep on it so Chase can't play with it while she's not watching. We bought the fruit bowl assuming that the toys wouldn't last through the entire weekend. Boy were we wrong! Best and cheapest toy purchase ever. They haven't even shredded a single one, even though that is their usual modus operandi with plush toys. The banana, though, and that way Chase carries it around, just makes me smile.

Puppy party
Mom and Dad came out for Memorial Day and brought their puppies with them. It was field spaniels everywhere for three days.
Obviously, more pictures to come.
