Craft projects

Just because we've been lax updating the blog, doesn't mean we've been sitting around and relaxing. We've been busy! And below is just one of the many projects that I've completed in the past several weeks.

We have a bad habit of collecting great photographs but having a house with nothing on the walls. Effective, no? So, I finally found some frames on sale, as well as some additional frames in a box in our basement that are perfect for the master bedroom. A few pictures and dictionary pages later, and here is what you get.

Pretty nice, huh? Now we just have to remember to hang them...

A wedding in one day

Yesterday, my former college roommate and I made a little trek up to Rhode Island for the wedding of one of our good friends and teammates. After a four hour drive up to the northeast, in which we didn't stop talking the whole time, we finally reached the wedding location. It was on a beach (which had I name that I cannot pronounce, even after many attempts) and it was beautiful.

The waves were huge yesterday, too!

After a lovely backyard reception, we hoped in the car to return home. All-in-all it was a great day. But, boy, am I tired now!

Last weekend in Pittsburgh

So, I have been very lax in my blogging and have not kept up to date on the goings-on around here. Not this past weekend, but the weekend before, we were in Pittsburgh for a wedding/golf outing. Let me explain...

My law school roommate, after three years of long distance dating and one year of living near each other to make sure it would still work, finally got married. Her now husband is also a Grover (for those of you who don't know, a Grover is the nickname we give other alums from our undergrad college) and a lawyer! They couldn't be better matched if they'd been picked out of a catalogue. I also found out at the wedding that Mindy finally landed a job in Chicago (not an easy feat in today's legal field). So we can be doubly proud of her. Here are some pictures from the wedding.

The happy couple:

While I was busy attending wedding festivities, Duff was having a busy day of his own. He had been invited to participate in a golf outing hosted by his college roommate's father. And anyone who knows Duff knows that he doesn't turn down a chance to play golf. So, Duff went off to get sunburned and frustrated on the course. Their team did well at 1 under par but lost to the winning team by 9 strokes.

Back in Philadelphia, Riley was spending the weekend with Grandma O. Grandma O did a good job of keeping the puppy in one piece, but she plied her with so many treats that Riley didn't eat a full meal for the next two days!!! Riley is now back to normal eating habits but we're going to have to work on Grandma's treat-denial skills. :)

Good news

I got a delightful piece of mail this week. It was an invitation to my former roommate's bridal shower. I love the classic yet cool invitations they chose.

Unfortunately, the shower is the same weekend that we're scheduled to pick up Riley. But I'm still so excited for my former roomie. I can't wait for her wedding in June. It reminded me of some of my favorite inspirations for our wedding.

Ah, the good old days...
