Matt and I were sitting in the living room when we suddenly turned to each other with worried faces--where are the dogs?
Yeah, its only 8:30 pm and they're ready for bed. The life of a puppy is so exhausting.
And yes, Mom and Dad. This picture was taken with the new camera. But, as a caveat, the camera was accidentally on the "scene" setting. It takes much better pictures on the proper setting.

Worst Blogger but Best Baby Shower Ever
Sadly, I've had these pictures on my computer for the last month and just haven't gotten up the energy to post them. Let's not even discuss the thank you cards, which I have not even started (sorry, everyone!). However, I did have the best baby shower with all of my friends on May 20th. I could not be more grateful to have all of these wonderful people around me. Below are some of the amazing pictures of the day.
My lovely Grove City girls who helped Sandy throw the shower for me. We hardly look any older than when we graduated 7 years ago.
How do you know when you've just had a baby shower at your house?
When you're defrosting your meat with rubber duckies!

Week 29
For comparison purposes:
Speaking of the puppies, with the onset of spring, they've been enjoying the outdoors.
That's a Chase smile, in case you can't tell. He likes to ham it up for the camera.

Week 26 and Update
We are now on week 26 of 40. Only 14 more weeks to go!
For comparison, below are all three of the previous weeks' pictures:
The baby is now the size of a head of lettuce, for those who are tracking baby's progress as well as mine.
On another note, we've been letting the puppies' hair grow out over the winter. We are now often presented with awesome hairstyles like the one below.
And finally, we've had a new addition to the nursery. One of my fabulous friends bought us a pack and play (also called a playard), so we moved it into the nursery as a placeholder for the crib. I think the nursery will look great once its finished. Slowly but surely it is all coming together.
The playard is vintage Pooh-themed and I love it! (It will match well in the living room once we move it out there after the crib's arrival.) It has some great features, like the changing table and bassinet, plus high-tech features like a vibrator/massager to soothe baby and a little radio that plays music. Plus, who can't get enough of a pillow with little Pooh ears on it? Let's face it--baby stuff is fun!

Bananas!
Chase is bananas over his new toy.
He carries it everywhere--but only by the very tip...because he's gentle like that. He hasn't even torn the tag off, he loves it so much. We'll see how long this lasts (its been over a week so far).
The banana cost us just over $1 at Target. Totally worth it. It was part of a "fruit bowl" that was on clearance for $5. It included a frisbee (the plate) that Riley loves to lay with outside, a pineapple with crinkly leaves that Chase also likes to cart around and toss in the air, a tennis ball, the banana and a lime that Riley loves so much she will place it on the chair/couch/bed under her and sleep on it so Chase can't play with it while she's not watching. We bought the fruit bowl assuming that the toys wouldn't last through the entire weekend. Boy were we wrong! Best and cheapest toy purchase ever. They haven't even shredded a single one, even though that is their usual modus operandi with plush toys. The banana, though, and that way Chase carries it around, just makes me smile.

Week 21
Duff says my belly is a lot bigger now. I can't really tell. For comparison, week 19 is below.
Still 19 weeks to go. We're over halfway there!

And so it begins...
The nursery, that is. I've made the first few moves towards transitioning the current spare, spare bedroom into a permanent home for our future child-of-some-kind. We'll call him/her the blueberry for now (which, honestly, I've been calling it since December).
Its also appropriate since the colors for the nursery are yellow...and bright blue.
Here is a before picture of the nursery from when we bought the house.
We didn't do much to it besides paint the room yellow and throw in some random furniture. It looked roughly like this for the last three years.
Except that this bedroom also became the unofficial storage room. We're still working on cleaning it out.
When I decided to start working on the nursery, I looked through some decor pictures that I've been collecting for years for ideas. I found the following nursery images that I've had for a long time and still love. These are my inspiration for the room.
And finally, here is what we have so far.
The gallery wall is my favorite. The crib is going to go right underneath it. All of the images are homemade except for the three largest that I purchased from Etsy.
The puppies also love the nursery. I think they are under the false impression that it is intended for them.
And for Mom, here is my progress on the throw blanket for the bed. Duff chose the yarn. I wanted to go plain royal blue and white but he wouldn't hear of it. This was our compromise. I think it will work out alright in the end.
Well, that's all for now. Jo
