Name that movie.
Anyway, John is officially seven months old. Actually, he's been seven months old for awhile now. I took pictures on his monthly birthday but have since been sitting on them. Here are the results:

You will never guess where I am blogging from right now...
Well, not quite. I would be, except we just got this sexy beast...
And I'm way too protective to let her near water, table edges or husbands. (Husbands are dangerous, people. Just ask my last computer.)
Anyway, as you can imagine, things have been a little hectic of late. Who wants to fly across the country for a 5 day trip on 3 days notice?
Wait, why is no one else raising their hand? Anyway...
I love you, sunshine.
I love you, pool.
Here's a little sunshine for all of y'all back home in the cold. No worries--summer will be here soon.
Also, a little somebody finally figured out how to really giggle. Cutest. Thing. Ever.

A Quick Trim
And a quick post at that. Don't tell my boss, but I am posting this at work. I feel like a neglectful blogger and I've had these pictures sitting, waiting to be posted, for weeks (as evidenced by JT's Valentine's chew toy below).
Anyway, JT got his first trim right around Valentine's Day. His hair was acting all wonky--it was mostly normal length but then there were a few 4-5 inch strands coming out of the crown of his head. It gave him a funny, halo-esque appearance. And momma couldn't have that!
I tried to get some pictures of the wonky hairs...

Anyway, we took Duff's beard trimmers to his fluffy little head and wha-la!
Chewing on Grandma's valentine. Sorry for the lack of "after" pictures. He was even less compliant after the haircut than he was before.
At least his hair is all one uniform length!

But you try to take pictures of a 6 month old...
In his Bumbo...
In the bathtub...
With a towel over him that he just wanted to play with...
At least his hair is all one uniform length!

Starting Solids
The time finally arrived to start the little guy on solid foods. You can start them any time between 4 to 6 months but we opted for the 6 month mark after waaaaaaaaay too much research and what worked best with our schedules (basketball season is over--can I get an hallelujah?!?).
Anyway, the first step was collecting all the correct materials. I generally select JT's feeding paraphernalia based on three important characteristics: (1) fun colors; (2) fun shapes; and (3) cartoon characters.
I also seem to have inadvertently developed a teal theme.
Next we moved on to mashed sweet potatoes (its a white sweet potato, in case you were wondering).
He is less than certain about this development.
We soon learned that far more of JT's dinner ends up everywhere except in his mouth.
Its torture, people. Torture.

Halfway There
I can't believe it. My baby is half way to having his first birthday. Where did all the time go?
At six months old, JT is measuring in at:
15 lbs
28.5 inches tall
Lets do some comparisons of the last several months.
One Month 2 Months 4 Months 6 Months
10 lbs 11 lbs 13 lbs 15 lbs
22.5 inches 24 inches 27.5 inches 28.5 inches
Craziness.
And now on to the fun part...pictures.
